About Us
Start Bay Wedding & Events Venue is a new and exciting venture being offered by the Goodman family on our traditional family farm. Having always appreciated the beauty of our landscape we have decided it’s time to share what we think is one of the finest views in Devon!

We are offering a grassy field overlooking the beautiful stretch of Start Bay. It offers nearby views of the quaint fishing village of Torcross in one direction and in the other, the famous freshwater Slapton Ley Nature Reserve. Both being backed by the vast bay stretching towards Dartmouth, you really will be spoilt for photo opportunities.

Nearby are the beautiful coastal towns of Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth with lovely shops, places to eat, walks and much more.

We give you the opportunity to hire this 9 acre grass field as a blank canvas with the most breath-taking back-drop. Enjoy the nearby barley fields to take that magical shot of the happy couple walking 'in fields of gold', while your guests enjoy the sea breeze, sipping champagne and enjoying that amazing view. Make this a day to remember that you have designed to be perfect for both you, your families and friends.

We are only offering a limited number of weddings each year, making this a truly unique venue.

The Venue
Our venue gives you very few restrictions on how you design your special day, such a large area means no restriction on numbers and allows the children plenty of space to play.
Why not use our straw bales for outside seating areas and fire pits to provide warmth in the evening. We can also offer an area for camping so that your guests can feel free to party with no worries of that drive home.

Our Recommended Suppliers
We can offer as much or as little support as you require. Hire the field and make it your own, or use our recommended local suppliers from marquee hire to caterers, from florists to entertainers, we can point you in the right direction.
Our nearest church is just half a mile from the field and can be reached by the prettiest Devon road you can imagine with overhanging trees, stream and seasonal flowers in the high hedgerows. If a church wedding is not for you then why not use a local Registry Office and hire a Celebrant to undertake a service tailored to your requirements at our venue.
